Mark Scudder will be performing on Big Dawg Music Mafia's "Off The Cuff 'n Ruff" open mic this Saturday, August 25th at 10pm EDT.
Mark, who is more a "musician who happens to be conservative" than a "conservative musician," has a new album out September 18th called The Solution is the Problem. With some help from Big Dawg Music Mafia, Mark garnered a small but dedicated following of conservatives and fans of good music across the country.
Unable to break into the traditional independent music scene due to their anti-conservative bigotry, and slowed by grassroots' conservatives inexperience with conservative arts, Mark live-streamed almost every recording and production session for The Solution is the Problem between November 2011 and July 2012, with fans from around the country watching. "Having company and immediate feedback and support while recording alone in my home studio for almost nine months was a lifesaver," Mark says. "I like working with other people, I like collaborating, but the local and regional musicians around here are almost entirely radical leftists and they turned their back on me a long time ago."
Mark is scheduled to be interviewed by Big Dawg Music Mafia co-founder Lisa Mei Norton about the new album during his performance. Mark will perform songs from The Solution is the Problem and some songs from artists who have influenced him.
The first single from The Solution is the Problem, "I Will Love You If You Let Me," is available now on iTunes, Amazon, and Mark's store, at http://markscudder.bandcamp.com. The Solution is the Problem can be preordered at Mark's store as well. Three versions are available: The digital album, a physical CD, and a "Deluxe" digital edition including an album-length commentary by Mark, and selected demos and live performances of all the songs on the album.
