A quick note to let you know about a new security update we’ll be implementing tomorrow. The details are a bit technical, but they will help prevent a type of attack called a CSRF attack. This isn’t really a type of attack people on our network have experienced, but the more we can prevent the potential for future attacks, the more secure we all will be.
This shouldn’t affect you or your members unless you have created custom forms or buttons that post data into your network. An example of this might be a custom sign-in form that you’ve created on a splash page or on the Main Page of your network. If this applies to your network and you experience issues such as buttons or links in that location not working as expected, we’d like to hear from you through our Help Center so we can investigate and fix any issues you may experience. Note that Scripts4Ning won't be affected by this release.
We don't expect many NCs will be affected by this, but we’ll respond here if there are any related issues about this update or if you have any questions. We’re working to improve security on platform for you and your members, and this is another step in that direction.
