Just days before authorities charged him with sexually assaulting his own…

I just read an article about Mrs. POTUS watching toddlers eat healthy lunches and doing the bunny hop with the kids. That must have been a sight to behold! Our First Lady’s “Let’s Move” child care checklist includes; one to two hours of physical activity daily, no screen time for children under 2 and only 30 minutes of screen time per week for the older children. In the same checklist it says no more than one to two hours of quality screen time per day overall. Mmm, okay, maybe she needs to…

Music at a Funeral
I attended my Uncle Mike’s funeral yesterday. He was the last of eight brothers and sisters on my mother’s side of the family, so it was more like saying good-bye to an entire generation than just one man. The eulogy was touching and the service comforting. The only time tears came to my eyes was when we were singing hymns - “Amazing Grace” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”. Music has an unexpected and powerful way of touching people.

The rally was great! There must have been over 30,000 in attendance at the beautiful multi-million dollar Scott Athletic Complex which is built on a reclaimed mountain top. There is also an airport, baseball fields, etc. on a several hundred acre level plateu made possible by the "evils" of strip mining. What a testimony to the greatness of what wealth can do for the betterment of unusable land. Have you ever been to the Hazzard area of eastern Kentucky? Once known as a wasteland of…

A little about me...
My work is eclectic; the fantasy, the strange and the surreal. I have created a CD cover and worked on several book illustrations. My work has been included in galleries from the East to the West Coast, and has been featured in art magazines.
I enjoy taking photos of cemeteries, crows, trees…

Anyone familiar with the Shell Game knows that it’s been around for a very, very long time. And just like most games, there are winners and losers. But where the winner in Monopoly is usually the one who accumulates the most property through a combination of skill and luck in the roll of the dice (not unlike the real world), the winner (thimblerigger) of the Shell Game is he who finds the most suckers! That would be you and me!
The age-old con game is quite simple.…

You may have seen or heard this outrageous story: A former US Marine was beaten and is in critical condition by police for simply protesting the injustice of America. OK, there's a back story here. First of all, although he isn't saying, there is a high probability that he was dishonorably discharged. He once ran a website about hating the Marines and about how he hated "their" image (hence the deduction that he was let go by them). Besides, even if he did serve honorably, in combat or…

The very last word’s uttered by Alec Guinness’s character Colonel Nicholson in David Lean’s Bridge on the River Kwai, as he realizes in the last instant of his life…the greatest mistake of his life. What Have I done?
I sometimes wonder if David Lean, my absolute favorite Director of all time, had a very powerful looking-glass beyond the lens of the movie camera. When I think of the essence of his three greatest films, Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor…

The Time is Here, Where Are You?
On September 17th, the same day as Constitution Day, the socialists revealed themselves to the American people. For the past 2 years, we've learned about the Progressive plan to "fundamentally transform the United States of America." Then in March 2011, the plan was revealed to America but due to the media's either ignorance or total involvement, they failed to alert the American people. A former SEIU official, Steven Lerner, revealed the socialist plan to take over this country. The plan he…

I was able to watch a movie this past weekend about the man who brought us the light bulb because he also invented the movie camera! Edison the Man starring Spencer Tracy did in fact bring good things to light about a man who literally lived to bring good things to life! And I think it’s fair to say that life without Thomas Alva Edison would most likely have meant a life without Steve Jobs, iPod, iTunes, iPhone, and iPad! Imagine…

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain." The Wizard of Oz

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. – Ecclesiastes 3
Welcome to the 15th edition of our Sunday Morning Tune-up! I hope everyone’s windshields are beginning to clear a bit as a result of quieting the mind in meditation and practicing some of the other techniques we’ve discussed. There is a tremendous disturbance in the force, as Obi Wan Kenobi would have said. And if you ain’t feelin’ it,…

Obama's war on energy is raising the cost of everything. Electricity, fuel and food should and could be negligible expenses in the family budget in our society, but we will have to elect the people to office who are not afraid to drill, dig and grow for that to…

Blues Bash with Mark Riley & Chris Leighton
Hi all,
Sorry I haven't posted here in a while. I've been buried in various projects. Here's something from a couple friends of mine,, two award winning local Blues guys, Mary Riley, the WBS Best Slide Guitar Award winner and Chris Leighton,, the namesake of the annual WBS Best Blues Drummer Award, performing on his infamous "Trash Kit". Chris created this drum kit from various items that you can pick up at any local junk yard or recycling venue,, the bass drum is an old dryer,…
