For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.- Matthew 13, (15)
Good morning dear friend. Much has happened and is happening since our first Sunday Morning get-together on July 17th last year. In the early editions we used the metaphor of cleaning our windshield in order to see. We learned about meditation to strengthen our ability to hear.
Energetically, we are living in a time of almost unbearable tension. It’s as if all of the beliefs, emotions and passions of the world have been brought to a full boil in one very big pot. This is an exceptionally dangerous time because…well, the forces of good and evil are at full boil. But it’s also THE time for the good of heart, because the opportunity for understanding has never been greater. As emotions boil, lies become hardest to conceal and truth rises very quickly to the surface. It is time to prepare my friends…
The Parable of the Nets
The Parable of the Nets, as Jesus taught in Matthew 13, is all about Harvest Time. It’s all about reaping that which has been sewn. Karma to the Buddhist…it’s all about the consequences of our actions. Think about it…our entire lifetime of choices and decisions. What we did or did not do of our own free will!
We are blessed here in the Northeast to know and work with a wonderful woman who has labored tirelessly and courageously to promote the values of Conservatism. She has graciously agreed to participate in a community awareness project I am working on. When I Googled her name to find her bio for the other project members, I found internet postings on her that were deplorably despicable and hateful…for no other reason than professing her beliefs as a Black Conservative Woman!
I will never understand in my heart of hearts how any good, decent and intelligent person who’s been raised with any values and principles at all, can accept this. And yet, this energy and behavior seems to have become the norm in a culture gone astray!
How could any person of honor and decency take one penny from the likes of a Bill Maher, let alone a million dollars? How completely fogged can a windshield possibly be to fool the heart so? And yet, see the multitudes of people who applaud and support it!
Dear God, the swelling sea of terrible choices we’ve all made to carry us to such foul waters! And how much better are you because you neither applauded nor supported, but chose to remain silent? This is not the time to keep our heads down dear friends. These are the times in which our most prized possessions will be our vigilance, our awareness and our courage!
Now is not the time to outreach and go along to get along! See the crimson red flags fly in all who would encourage you so! Now is the time to inventory your beliefs and gut check everything you’ve been fed!
If you are a person of faith, it is time to renew your vows. If you are not, now would be a good time to seek it. It is not for any of us to impose our views and beliefs on others though many seek to deprive us of ours. It is, however, absolutely incumbent and essential on each and every one of us to demand that reality check of ourselves!
I want to thank one of the most profoundly courageous people I know, Ann Barnhardt for inspiring this morning’s Tune-up! I can’t seem to decide whether I believe she is the reincarnation of Joan of Arc or John the Baptist, but she is the most wonderfully True North person I have ever known! I encourage you to follow her and all who stand so strong and steady in the light of Truth! http://barnhardt.biz/
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
Which when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. – Matthew 13 (47-48)
