The Sunday Morning Tune-up, June 3rd 2012 Edition!

“Tip Jar” – Please listen after reading!

“Pray for me, that I may not flee for fear of the wolves.”- Pope Benedict XVI

In yesterday’s What We Don’t Know piece, I wrote that “in the world of man, perfect storms are a function of political, economic and religious conditions.” The above quote from his Holiness was taken from his speech at the Mass for the Inauguration of the Pontificate in 2005. Regular visitors to this site remember my SMTu a few weeks back sharing the story of Bishop Jenky’s courageous stand against Obama’s attack on the Church…comparing his tactics to those of Hitler and Stalin!

Good morning Dear Friend! On Friday, we witnessed the gale force winds of our capital markets reeling from the abysmal reality of the jobs market. All of this is the direct result of political witchcraft covering up for needy overweight governments telling us how much soda we can drink! You may laugh, but I defy any economist to give a more accurate explanation of what is kicking up around us! The Michael Voris link below (1) provides greater context to the Holy Father’s quote above, and here is where the political and economic storms collide with the tempest in the Church to create the Perfect Storm

What needy government fears the most is a spiritually strong citizenry. What the needy government needs the most are compliant sheep too soft, too kind and too gentle to do anything other than dutifully accept their oppressive fate. In other words, the needy government needs to suck the Truth out of the Church until all that is left is an empty shell of niceness…a chiffon-like church.

In many ways, the struggles within the Church have been going on since Martin Luther. From the failure to consecrate Russia to the confessions of Bella Dodd who admitted to her role in placing 800 Communist radicals into the Catholic priesthood resulting in Vatican II leading up to the alleged “scandal” in the office of the Pope we’re all reading about today…it’s all about weakening the Church! The (2) link below provides a brief but fascinating history of the Prayer to St. Michael that sheds a light on the darkness that has befallen us as a nation!

So what in the world are we to do? This largely depends on who we are. Most of my friends reading these words are rolling their eyes largely because of the hypocrisy that has taken root in the church for the very reasons stated above…inspiring them to lead their lives outside of the Church. Today they are good and decent people standing on shaky ground knowing…feeling they’ve been lied to on just about every front. Now is the time for all good men…

United we stand, Divided we fall! Know the wolf in that which seeks to divide! Know also how the wolf hunts…in packs. See how they went after Bishop Jenky…as a pack! 90 Notre Dame Faculty members and the entire Anti-Defamation League…against one man!! They need to divide us; we must stand together and divide them. There is nothing to fear in facing the lone wolf. Individually they are cowards. Know the wolf! He is the one who attempts to ridicule you for holding the politically incorrect opinion. He is the one who seeks to publicly scorn you as a racist and a bigot for holding traditional beliefs and values in a clear attempt to silence you. While he can taste and feel your fear, he fears your courage! Understand that courage and prayer are our greatest weapons. When you stand courageous in the face of fear, angels gather an invincible army to this call. I have found this to be true on more than one occasion. Breitbart found it facing down union mobs. Walker has found the same in Wisconsin. West in Florida! When we see such courage, we need to support it in any and every way possible. We need to let our Priests know that we have their backs in this epic battle that is upon us. May God continue to bless us and the people we love…and may God Bless America!

Don’t let ‘em take it from you!

Excellent post as always, Chip...thought I would add this Scriptural reference to wolves...

"Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain."  Ezekiel 22:27

The personal (and possessive) pronoun "her" represents Israel, the people of God.

Yet the nation is in the process of disintegrating --- due to her constant rebellion and love of sin!

God is saying through Ezekiel that He will allow her Rulers (Princes) to behave like wolves in the midst!

"Ravening the prey!"

In Hebrew that clause is spelled:  tareph tereph.  These words virtually duplicate each other.  The first is a verb; while the second is a noun.

The root ("trp") means to catch and tear to pieces!  The noun then would mean ... that which is caught and torn to pieces.

Israel's leaders were destroying their own people!

Just like wolves destroy their prey!

When Jacob was shown Joseph's bloody coat (by 11 lying boys), he lamented "and said, It is my son's coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces." ("taraph" = "rent in pieces") Genesis 37:33

Once Job accused God of tearing ("taraph") him to pieces in Divine Anger! "He (God) teareth me in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me."  Job 16:9

And at the Cross Jesus' enemies were as ravening ("taraph") beasts!  Psalm 22:13 foretells Him saying:  "They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening ("taraph") and a roaring lion."

Yet today I would say this.

Anytime the wolves come ... they first have to get through God's defenses in order to harass us!

He can protect His own!  "Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey ("tereph") to their teeth."  Psalm 124:6

In fact, when we sin, God can attack us ... just as these earthly predators do!

The Lord is speaking here:  "Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces ("taraph"), and there be none to deliver."  Psalm 50:22

And even when the Lord does allow difficulty and danger to come our way ... He can restore that which has been torn!  "Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn ("taraph"), and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up."  Hosea 6:1

So even the wolves ... along with everything else in life ... must ultimately bow to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ our Saviour!
