BLUEGRASS WIDOW

 

He's gone off and left her again

He's out with the boys drinkin' buckets of gin

Pickin' and singin' till dawn

My oh my but they do carry on

 

And here's to the Bluegrass Widow

Sometimes it just gets her down

Her summers are spent in an old ragged tent

Camped at a festival outside of town

 

Sometimes she feels deserted

Like the time she thought he had flirted

With some little girl next to him

Picking out notes on her mandolin
